Dr. Matthew Karen

Dr. Matthew Karen is a facial plastic surgeon and the owner-operator of Exclusively Faces in Sharpsburg. He is double board-certified in Facial Plastic Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery and holds M.D. and F.A.C.S. credentials. He has more than 25 years in practice, starting in Winchester in 2001, and later moved his practice to Peachtree City, Georgia.

He earned his medical degree at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He spent two years as a surgical resident, then completed a four-year ENT (otolaryngology) residency at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship under a leading plastic surgeon. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

His work centers on facial rejuvenation and both cosmetic and reconstructive work on the face and neck, including SMAS and deep plane facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and brow lifts. He also performs nonsurgical treatments such as CO2 laser resurfacing, Botox, Sculptra and dermal fillers, and he pairs fillers with other treatments to refine facial balance, targeting volume loss and lines. He has authored articles, co-authored book chapters and presents research at cosmetic and plastic surgery events. Planning draws on facial anatomy, modern plastic surgery techniques and skin biochemistry.
