About
Dr. Matthew Casavant is the founding physician of Crown & Ryxes and founded the practice in 2002. He is a board certified OB-GYN and a founding member of the South Lake OB-GYN faculty, and he is on staff at South Lake Hospital and Florida Hospital.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Micro and Molecular Biology at UCF and a medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. His OB-GYN residency at St. Vincent's/Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, included training in advanced minimally invasive surgery. He became the first certified robotic surgeon at South Lake Hospital, has performed more robotic procedures than any physician in Lake County, and has worked in minimally invasive surgery for over 10 years.
Patients are often referred to him for advanced procedures. He focuses on preventive care and on treatments that work with the body's own healing, and he keeps patients up to date on their diagnostic, medical and surgical options.
