Dr. Mary Lynn Moran, M.D.

Dr. Mary Lynn Moran, M.D., runs her practice as a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. She holds double board certification, from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and from the American Board of Otolaryngology in head and neck surgery. By her own account she has more than 32 years of experience, including concierge work, and over twenty years of revision rhinoplasty. The site describes her as the first woman in Tennessee to be double board-certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and as one of the most credentialed plastic surgeons in the country. The practice notes she was the first woman to serve as president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She moved her practice from Woodside, California, to Tennessee.

She trained at the University of Michigan, where she was accepted into an accelerated six-year premedical and medical school program and earned her MD. Her training continued with a general surgery internship at Tufts Medical School, five years of head and neck surgery in Boston within the combined Tufts and Boston University program, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship, and an American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in Toronto, Canada. She is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a former voluntary clinical faculty member at Stanford. She mentors residents, fellows and medical students. She has privileges at Coolsprings Surgery Center and Tri-Star Centennial Hospital. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her to the Medical Board of California, and she was later reappointed. She gives seminars on the aging process and on reversing and preventing some age-related changes.

Her focus includes facelifts, mini facelifts, neck lifts with platysmal band treatment, rhinoplasty including ethnic and revision work, and Botox and filler injections. The practice describes her as one of the nation's leading rhinoplasty surgeons, and she tailors ethnic and revision rhinoplasty to each patient. Most patients come to her by personal referral. She is a senior adviser to the Face to Face program, which provides free facial reconstruction to domestic violence survivors and to patients abroad, and she has travelled to Vietnam three times to teach surgeons. Her work has been featured in articles on facial plastic surgery and in outlets including City Lifestyle and Franklin Magazine.
