Dr. Marwan Khalifeh

Marwan Khalifeh is a plastic surgeon who is double board certified, with certification from The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. His work centers on breast, body and facial procedures, and he is known for awake liposuction, body contouring and laser liposuction. He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2000, the same year he started at Johns Hopkins University as a surgical intern in its plastic surgery program. He completed a general surgery residency at Johns Hopkins in 2004 and a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2006. He was chosen as chief resident in Johns Hopkins' plastic and reconstructive surgery program and later became an assistant professor and co-director of the Cosmetic Surgery Education Program in that department. He serves in the Navy Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Commander, spending one weekend a month and two weeks a year treating Navy Reserve personnel at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He speaks at professional conferences and panels, has published research papers and book chapters, and has appeared on Washington-area television (Fox 5, ABC 7 and Fox 45) to discuss plastic surgery. His research centers on safer outcomes in cosmetic surgery and on techniques that minimize scarring. Many patients come through personal referrals, among them Washington-area professionals, athletes, media personalities and government officials, and he also sees patients from across the United States and abroad. He received the Top Spear Award and Alpha Omega Alpha distinction at Vanderbilt and the top in-service award at Johns Hopkins. In virtual consultations, he reviews photos of the area of concern and talks through surgical options.
