Dr. Marta Recasens

Marta Recasens, M.D., serves as Medical Director of the MediSpa and is the physician who leads its treatments. She is a board-certified physician and a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon, practicing as an ophthalmologist with a focus on the macula, retina and vitreous. She is affiliated with Macular, Retinal, Vitreal Associates, an ophthalmology practice. For roughly seven years she has been a Qualified Medical Evaluator in Ophthalmology for the State of California, assessing injured workers with eye disease or eye trauma.

Her aesthetic services include Botox and Juvederm Ultra Plus. She personally administers every injectable treatment. Her Botox dosing is conservative and tailored to each patient, with particular care around the eyes and forehead. Juvederm plans are shaped by the patient's facial features, comfort and goals, and she applies her knowledge of ophthalmological facial anatomy when placing filler. She also personally carries out every laser tattoo removal treatment at the MediSpa.

She has more than 37 years of medical practice, including 28 in ophthalmology and 8 in aesthetics. Body contouring plans are built around a person's body shape, goals and comfort, and she recommends them only when she judges them appropriate. For PicoSure, SmartSkin+ and SculpSure Neck, she reviews skin type, scarring, preferences about downtime, or the under-chin area before suggesting a plan, and during a one-on-one consultation she explains what each treatment can and cannot achieve.
