Dr. Marla Klein

Dr. Marla Klein founded Klein Dermatology & Associates and owns the practice, a private dermatology practice in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She is a board-certified dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, with 33 years of physician experience and private practice dating to 1997, when she opened an office in Tigard. She has also designed and maintained the practice website since 2020. Her memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology (since 1994), the Oregon Dermatology Society (since 1997), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (since 1994) and the American Medical Association (since 1989). Her training began with a BA in Biology, with minors in chemistry and business, from California State University, Fullerton, which she earned with honors in 1989. She then received her MD with honors from UC Davis School of Medicine in 1993 and completed her dermatology residency at HFH in 1997, where she served as chief resident. She was certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1997 and recertified in 2007 and 2017. In 1998 she trained in tumescent liposuction and fat grafting, and she had stopped doing liposuction and fat grafting by 2005 after becoming drawn to Sculptra. She learned the Sculptra technique from Dr. Danny Vleggaar in Europe and has used Sculptra since 2004. The practice describes her as the region's expert Sculptra injector and as the Northwest's original trainer for Sculptra. She was injecting collagen (Cosmoplast) in 1997, when it was the only filler available in the USA. From 2002 to 2012 she served on the Allergan National Educational Faculty, teaching BOTOX and Juvederm, and she was one of the original national physician faculty for Botox. She has been treating headaches with Botox since 2000, has more than 25 years of experience in facial fillers and full face rejuvenation, and treats both medical and cosmetic dermatology patients. She was one of the first 35 physicians to use Ellacor in 2022 and has performed more than 300 Ellacor procedures on the face and neck. The practice credits her as a thought contributor to the development of Ellacor and microcoring. She trains her own nurses personally. A 2008 book by Brandith Irwin MD describes her as an excellent physician and injector. She was also featured in a 2005 Vaniqa commercial. She is best known at the practice for Sculptra, Botox and Ellacor. She recommends a consultation before a personalized neuromodulator plan is started.
