Dr. Mai

Dr. Mai is the Medical Director of Newport Aesthetics, the medical spa in Newport Beach, and founded the business as a physician. She works in private practice, is affiliated with Hoag Hospital, and continues to treat primary care patients at a concierge medicine practice. She has won numerous medical practice and patient recognition awards over the past two to three decades, and she has more than 30 years of treating patients. She is a double board-certified physician with an M.D. from the University of Toronto and an Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her work is non-surgical medical aesthetics, including skincare consultations, injections and laser treatments. She leads SculpSure treatments, performs Kybella treatments, and determines at consultation whether a client qualifies for MonaLisa Touch. She personally delivers laser hair reduction, rather than a nurse or technician. She adjusts treatment settings and doses to each patient's needs. She and the clinical team decide how often Pellevé maintenance is needed, and she often suggests pairing Pellevé with laser, Botox and fillers, applied after the Pellevé.
