About

Dr. Lydia Au founded The Beauty Within and holds a DACM along with a California Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) license. She has been working for almost two decades at the point where medicine and cosmetic care overlap, with a focus on facial rejuvenation and holistic dermatology. She created the MeridianLift Acupuncture Facial and the MeridianLift Method, which uses Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis to guide aesthetic outcomes. She instructs licensed acupuncturists in the method across the United States. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Purdue University. She also studied at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, now Sonoran University of Health Sciences, and received a Doctorate in Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health Sciences. Her training in functional and naturopathic skin health was with Dr. Julie Greenberg. She completed a diploma in TCM Dermatology with Dr. Mazin Al-Khafaji in the United Kingdom, where she keeps studying complicated skin conditions. Her certifications cover facial acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and microneedling methods, including SkinPen. Her practice brings together Traditional Chinese Medicine and functional medicine to approach skin health from within.
