Dr. Kathy Upton

Kathy Upton is the founder of LaserMD and a board-certified family practitioner with privileges at Northwest Hospital. She has been practicing medicine in Edmonds since 1998, and she started the medi-spa to bring laser and facial aesthetic services into her practice.

Her medical degree is from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and she completed a three-year residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She has 15 years of injecting experience. She earned Silver Status for aesthetic work with BOTOX Cosmetic and was selected as one of 2000 Premiere Juvederm providers in the U.S. for the Juvederm Experience Trial.

Her focus areas are laser treatments, facial aesthetics, and Botox and dermal fillers, and she keeps up with educational courses on newer aesthetic technologies. For laser vein work, she may refer patients to a vein specialist when veins are too large to treat or when she sees a vascular concern. The laser works on smaller vessels by heating them so the body gradually breaks them down, with no incisions or injections.
