Dr. Karol A. Gutowski

Dr. Karol A. Gutowski is a board-certified plastic surgeon who practices in the Chicago area and works as a plastic surgeon at aFresh Med Spa & Plastic Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and holds privileges at NorthShore University. He holds the credentials MD and FACS. His training includes a Medical Degree from Michigan State University, general surgery at the University of Minnesota, where he spent two years on plastic surgery research, and plastic surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern. He also completed a fellowship at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University. He completed college at the University of Michigan with research in biochemistry and surgery. His focus includes breast augmentation, breast lifts and breast reduction, along with fat transfers to the breast, face and body. He performs body contouring such as arm lifts, thigh lifts, tummy tucks and several liposuction methods, including wide-awake, laser-assisted and water liposuction. He holds academic appointments as Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin, Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at The Ohio State University and Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago. He has served as Residency Program Director at the University of Wisconsin and as an Examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has authored over 100 publications and book chapters, lectures internationally on no-drain tummy tucks, fat grafting and injectables, and has served on committees including Patient Safety and Breast Implant Task Force. He has been honored as a Top Doctor by U.S. News and World Report, is listed as a Castle Connolly America's Top Doctor, was named by the Consumer's Research Council of America as one of America's Top Plastic Surgeons, is among the top 100 Social Influencers in Cosmetic Surgery on RealSelf, where he is a regular responder, and received an award for a publication on safety in plastic surgery.
