Dr. John Q. Binhlam

Dr. John Q. Binhlam started Advanced Skin & Laser Center and Binhlam Aesthetics. He is a dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon, certified by the board in dermatology and in Mohs micrographic dermatologic surgery, and holds MD and FAAO credentials. At Advanced Skin & Laser Center he oversees medical dermatology, runs the Elite Beauty by Binhlam membership and other physician-performed care, and works alongside the Binhlam Aesthetics team on individualized treatment plans. Training began with an undergraduate degree in computer science and mathematics from Vanderbilt University. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine residency at Indiana University, and finished a subspecialty residency in medical and surgical dermatology at Vanderbilt University. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. He has served as past president of the Nashville Dermatology Society, the Tennessee Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He has more than 30 years of experience. His cosmetic dermatology work uses current technology. Clinically, he diagnoses and manages long-term skin, hair and nail conditions, screens for skin cancer, and treats complex skin conditions. He holds that well-informed patients make more confident decisions, advocates for patient health and rights, and mentors medical students, residents and other physicians. He takes part in advocacy with the American Academy of Dermatology Association and the One Voice Against Cancer Coalition.
