Dr. John Leahy

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, John Leahy practices as a physician at Aesthetic Medica. He completed an undergraduate degree in Global Health at the University of Michigan, then a medical degree at Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. His internship and residency were both done at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was awarded the Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Surgeon award. He has presented research on gynecologic surgery and obstetrics at local, state and national meetings. Maternal health anchors much of his work: he has taken part in several medical missions to Vietnam, worked in Ghana on efforts to reduce maternal mortality, and joins monthly teleconferences with obstetricians in Uganda and other countries pursuing the same aim. He speaks conversational Vietnamese. Memberships include the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
