Dr. James Sturm

Dr. James Sturm is the doctor at Modern Functional Health Medical Spa, practicing in Saint Peters. He holds the credentials D.O., DABA and FIPP, is board certified in aesthetics, and is triple board certified. He has over 30 years of experience, and he earned a master aesthetic course certification in 2017.

His background includes anesthesia training at Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a period as Director of Pain Management at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He holds degrees in anesthesiology, pain management and interventional pain management, and completes more than 100 continuing medical education credits each year.

At the spa he performs the threadlift and the Botox treatments for excessive underarm sweating, and he personally performs each IV drip. He specializes in injectables, including Jeuveau (Newtox) and Lip Flip. He owns and operates the spa's laser machines and is present whenever a laser is in use. He is also in the building during appointments to answer questions during consultations and treatments. Beyond the spa's core services, he can help with nutritional therapies, peptides, medical weight loss, testosterone, growth hormone therapy, women's sexual health, PRP for hair growth and pain management. He is willing to discuss the research behind the procedures offered.
