Dr. James Kraus

Dr. James Kraus is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at North Boston Oral & Facial Surgery in Amesbury, MA. He earned a BS in Biology cum laude from Saint Michael's College in Vermont. He started dental training at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 2002 and received his DMD cum laude there in 2006. He finished an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston in 2010. He then completed a cranio-maxillofacial surgery fellowship in the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, in 2011. He instructs in the maxillofacial surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center, covers facial trauma call there and at the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, and holds hospital appointments at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA and Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. His work spans a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with special interests in orthognathic surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, facial trauma and reconstruction, facial cosmetic surgery, and IPL and CO2 laser procedures. He is board certified as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
