Dr. James Appel

Dr. James Appel is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Appel Wormer Esthetics in Charlotte. His work spans cosmetic and reconstructive procedures on the face, breast, and body. He was named a Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery in Charlotte in each year from 2014 through 2023. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a biochemistry specialization from Duke University in 1995, followed by a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 2001. He trained at Duke University Medical Center, progressing from general surgery intern to chief resident. He then completed a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in general surgery and in plastic surgery, and he holds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
