About
Dr. Howard Hu is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the founder of Valencia Plastic Surgery, which he established in 2005. He has provided plastic surgery in Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley since 2003. Before founding the practice, he worked with a plastic surgery group and received its Physician of the Year award in 2004.
His training started at UCLA, where he studied on a full academic scholarship as a University of California Regent Scholar. He graduated in 1991 with college and department honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then trained at Baylor College of Medicine on scholarship, receiving his medical degree in 1995 along with a citation for medical ethics studies. He completed a five-year general surgery residency at UC San Diego in 2000 and a two-year plastic surgery fellowship at UC Davis in 2002, where he served as Chief Resident.
His focus includes body contouring, facial plastic surgery, breast enhancement and non-surgical skin treatments, and he specializes in tummy tuck, breast augmentation and breast implant procedures. Earlier in his career he performed transaxillary and transumbilical breast augmentation, but he has since moved away from those techniques. He is on the medical staff at Providence/Holy Cross Medical Center and serves on the Medical Executive Committee of Summit Surgery Center in Santa Clarita, where he chairs the Physician's Advisory Board. In 2008 the American Society of Plastic Surgeons invited him to serve as an ambassador to China in a plastic surgeon exchange program. BOTOX at the practice is administered under his direction.
