Dr. Helena Guarda

Dr. Helena Guarda is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Plastic Surgery Specialists of Virginia in Suffolk. She offers breast, body and facial procedures, both cosmetic and reconstructive, and has served cosmetic and reconstructive patients for more than two decades.

She earned a B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, from Monmouth College in West Long Branch, New Jersey, in 1990. Her medical degree is an M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey, earned between 1990 and 1994. Her general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery residencies were completed at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, where she also completed a microsurgery fellowship that included breast reconstruction with perforator flaps.

She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a certification held since 2002 and renewed in 2012 and 2022. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Virginia Society of Plastic Surgeons, and she serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Society.
