Dr. Erin Saltzman works at the Newtown and Upper Dublin locations as an endocrinologist and obesity medicine specialist, focused on medical weight loss and bariatric medicine. She is double-board certified in endocrinology and obesity medicine, lists the credentials MD, FACE and Diplomate of the ABOM, and studied the physiology of weight gain and obesity during her medical training.
She treats uncontrolled weight gain and obesity as medical conditions. She attributes weight gain to a mix of genetics, hormonal imbalances, life stressors and environmental factors, not willpower alone. Her weight loss work aims to improve or sometimes resolve weight-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
