Dr. Barker leads Peak Plastic Surgery Center, which he founded, and practices as a cosmetic plastic surgeon in Cherry Creek. His work centers on breast, body and non-surgical care, and he plans and performs each procedure himself.
He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. General surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery training came at Rush University Medical Center and John H. Stroger, Jr. (Cook County) Hospital in Chicago. He then completed aesthetic fellowship training in Austin, Texas, working alongside Rocco Piazza and Marcello Antunes at the Piazza Center. He holds a Colorado medical license and has written journal articles and book chapters, and he has presented at national conferences.
Before recommending a plan, he learns each patient's goals, anatomy and lifestyle. For breast augmentation, he considers anatomy and natural proportion, including tissue quality, chest width, asymmetry, lifestyle and long-term goals, and then may suggest implants, fat transfer or a staged approach. He also separates fat reduction from skin tightening, a distinction that guides whether liposuction alone, or a lift or tummy tuck, is the better choice.
