Dr. Edward Chamata

Dr. Edward Chamata is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Houston, working in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His main focus is aesthetic surgery of the face, breasts and body, and he also offers non-surgical options such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels and non-surgical rhinoplasty. His body procedures include contouring, abdominal etching and buttock augmentation, and he performs gynecomastia surgery for men. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine. He completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, training under Dr. Rod Rohrich and building skills in rhinoplasty and facelift procedures. His publications in plastic surgery journals address facelifts, rhinoplasty, buttock augmentation and platelet-rich plasma, and he co-authored a chapter in the fourth edition of Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters. Honors include the Baron Hardy Award for Outstanding Academic Performance (2016), membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (2014) and the Scott and White Research Mentorship Award (2015). While at the University of Texas, he founded HOPE Medical Missions in 2008. He has also joined surgical mission trips to Mexico with the Crystal Foundation, where he performed cleft lip and palate surgeries. At Texas A&M he was president of the Plastic Surgery Interest Group, started its Medical Mission Trips program and worked as an anatomy lab instructor. For recovery he recommends silicone gel, compression garments and sunscreen, and before surgery he stresses dietary changes to support results and healing.
