Dr. Der Sarkissian

Dr. Der Sarkissian is a facial plastic surgeon at A Smoother You who works only on the face and neck. He is board certified and double board certified. He previously served as Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Boston Medical Center and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Facial Plastic Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine. He received Boston University's Teaching Award for Excellence in resident and medical student teaching. He holds an undergraduate degree in biology and art humanities from Columbia University and an M.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine, where his thesis on skin aging research earned honors. His head and neck surgery training was completed at New England Medical Center, Lahey Clinic, Boston Children's Hospital, Boston University Hospital and Boston VA Medical Center, and his facial plastic surgery training was done at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research has covered skin aging, skin cancer and facial reconstruction at several institutions, including NYU and the National Institutes of Health. He has lectured on facial plastic surgery across the United States and internationally, and has published journal articles and book chapters.
