Dr. David Cotter

Dr. David Cotter holds board certification in dermatology and practices at Las Vegas Dermatology in Las Vegas. He also serves as an assistant clinical professor at the UNLV School of Medicine. He completed a dermatology residency at UC San Diego Medical Center from 2016 to 2019, serving as chief resident. Before that, he did an internal medicine internship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas from 2015 to 2016, where he was named intern of the year. His education began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNLV, completed summa cum laude between 2005 and 2008. From 2009 to 2015 he earned an M.D. and a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology and physiology at Washington University School of Medicine. He has published peer-reviewed articles, presented at national meetings, mentored medical students and conducted clinical research. His clinical work spans medical, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He diagnoses and treats skin cancer through medical, laser and surgical methods, and manages psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and acne in children and adults. He also treats bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus vulgaris and cutaneous lupus, and provides medical and laser care for pediatric hemangiomas, eczema and genetic skin diseases. Cosmetic services include neuromodulators, dermal fillers, lasers and scar revision. He also offers allergic contact dermatitis care, including patch testing.
