Dr. David Biro, MD, PhD

Dr. David Biro is a board-certified dermatologist at kalon Dermatology, where he performs filler injections and is the listed provider for the Botox service page. He completed an MD at Columbia University and a PhD at Oxford University, after a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and has 30 years in dermatology. The practice notes that he was named a New York Magazine Top Doctor in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and received the Alpha Omega Alpha award for teaching excellence. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he trains dermatology residents and teaches a course on medicine and literature. Beyond medical journals, his writing has run in the New York Times and Slate. He has also written two non-fiction books, One Hundred Days and The Language of Pain, and two novels, This Magnificent Dappled Sea (2020) and And the Bridge is Love (2021). At filler consultations he goes over medical history and current medications, takes photographs of the face at rest and in motion from several angles, and pinpoints the areas most likely to benefit, the product family that suits and roughly how many syringes are required.
