About
Dr. ChiChi Berhane is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who serves as Director of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Shepherd Center and practices in a private boutique practice in Buckhead. He focuses on minimal scarring plastic surgery using current techniques and on natural enhancements tailored to each individual. He has received several awards for research and teaching and has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
His training began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction. He then completed medical school in North Carolina, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, followed by a general surgery residency where he finished as chief resident. He completed plastic surgery training at the University of Miami, including cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and then a craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, at Scottish Rite and Egleston hospitals. Earlier in his career he trained and practiced in Miami alongside plastic surgeons James Stuzin, Constantino Mendieta and Leonard Hochstein.
Outside the practice he has volunteered on medical missions to South America, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia, and continues that work twice a year for two weeks at a time. Patients appreciate how clearly he explains procedures and how he communicates one-on-one. Those who know him describe him as a perfectionist, thorough and precise in his work.
