Dr. Catherine Hannan

Dr. Catherine Hannan is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Washington Women Plastic Surgery, where she performs cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology and music from Yale University and an MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Her six years of plastic surgery residency took place in the Georgetown University Hospital program, the only plastic surgery training program in Washington, DC. The American Board of Plastic Surgery certified her in 2012.

She holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgery and fellow status with the American College of Surgeons, and she teaches as an assistant professor in clinical plastic surgery at Georgetown School of Medicine. Her mentoring centers on people entering surgery, especially young women considering surgical careers. Through Catholic Charities of America she provides surgical care to uninsured residents of the DC area. She has also traveled to Ecuador with Medical Ministry International to carry out reconstructive operations. On Capitol Hill she has lobbied, alongside the American Society of Plastic Surgery, on surgical standards and breast cancer reconstruction.
