Dr. Castro

Dr. Castro is an associate plastic surgeon at Brandon Richland MD in Newport Beach, California, chosen for the surgical team by Dr. Richland. His focus is aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body. Before entering medicine, he spent nine years in the United States Navy as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, with a deployment to Iraq, and was promoted five times during that enlistment. He earned a bachelor of science in physiology and neuroscience magna cum laude from UC San Diego, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and then an MD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He trained through a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at UC Irvine, then a cosmetic surgery fellowship named for Bruce Connell at the same university, followed by a one-year plastic surgery cosmetic fellowship. The site characterizes those seven years of residency and fellowship as hands-on work across reconstructive and aesthetic technique. He is currently completing an aesthetic surgery fellowship. He is a native Spanish speaker and provides care in Spanish from consultation through recovery.
