Dr. Benjamin Schlechter

Dr. Benjamin Schlechter is the founder of North Shore Aesthetics, a plastic surgery office and day spa in Northbrook. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has more than 28 years of surgical experience, including more than 28 years in private practice, and he has performed more than 30,000 procedures. He spends most of his time on site at the spa, selects the services offered there and the estheticians who provide them, and has more than 28 years in the medical spa industry.

He is an attending plastic surgeon at North Shore University Health System in Glenbrook, Illinois, and holds affiliations with several local hospitals, among them North Shore Health System, Lake Forest Hospital and Northwestern hospitals. Since 2010 he has worked as a clinical instructor in the plastic surgery fellowship at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has also been a driving force at Spring Ridge Plastic Surgery, previously the Proserpi-Schlechter Center for Plastic Surgery. He served as president of the Robert H. Ivy Pennsylvania Plastic Surgery Society from 2014 to 2015 and remains an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Aesthetic Society.

His surgical work includes facial procedures such as facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and rhinoplasty revision, endoscopic brow lift and fat transfer, along with breast revision and implant explantation. He performs CO2 laser skin tightening and skin rejuvenation, and offers laser vein treatments working alongside a licensed esthetician. He has developed pre- and post-operative skin care protocols for several cosmetic procedures. His techniques for breast, body and facial procedures are cutting-edge, aimed at recovery and aesthetic results. He has given presentations on cosmetic surgery and laser procedures, was featured in New Beauty magazine, and serves as an injection trainer for Galderma Medical.
