About

Dr. Ben Talei heads the practice and holds board certification in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as in head and neck surgery (otolaryngology). His training started with head and neck surgery at Columbia University and Cornell University, followed by a residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he was chief resident. He then completed a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, two facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowships, and a dedicated fellowship under Dr. Milton Waner at the Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York. Much of his operating work centers on deep plane facelift and neck lift surgery, including the AuraLyft. He also performs rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, emphasizing functional and aesthetic revisions, and for suitable candidates uses a closed approach with incisions inside the nose. His other procedures include blepharoplasty, posterior ptosis repair through internal incisions, lip lift, facial reconstruction and Mohs reconstruction. He originated the deep plane upper lip lift that sits behind the Cupid Lift, designed the Cupid Lift itself, and developed the Weekend Lift and the PHAT technique. His work on these methods has been published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal and Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. He directs two fellowships of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, teaches at UCLA, and holds an international professorship in facial plastic surgery at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico. With children, he treats vascular birthmarks and congenital facial differences, working alongside a team of specialists and pairing surgery with medical and laser treatment matched to each patient, while keeping close communication with families throughout. He also sets the treatment plans for the practice's non-surgical treatments and neuromodulator plans. He has appeared on E! News, FOX and NBC and has been consulted by The Doctors, The Hollywood Reporter and Fox 5 NY.
