Dr. Becker

Dr. Becker practices plastic surgery at the Optimization Centre in Boca Raton, Florida, a career that started in 1981. He holds certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and divides his work between reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, with a focus on breast surgery, facial rejuvenation and liposuction. He is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at Florida Atlantic University Medical School. He trained first at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and then completed a plastic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia. His practice includes breast reconstruction for patients treated for breast cancer. He developed a reconstruction method that uses the patient's own fat combined with an absorbable mesh. He holds patents on several devices: the Becker Adjustable Breast Implant, which is reshaped by adding fluid through a removable port; the Becker Dissector Liposuction Cannula; and the Becker Micronizer, used in fat grafting. He lectures internationally about his surgical methods and teaches at plastic surgery meetings, seminars and conferences. He is the author of two books, has contributed to numerous textbooks and has published more than 90 articles in medical journals. His memberships include the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has earned national and international recognition for his skill in plastic surgery, and Good Housekeeping named him among its top breast cancer reconstructive surgeons in 1989.
