About
Ashley Bradshaw is a board-certified bariatric surgeon who sees patients in Frisco, Abilene and the Dallas-Fort Worth area through The Bariatric Experts. Her surgical work spans bariatric, foregut and general surgery. She carries out revision bariatric procedures for patients experiencing weight regain, mechanical complications or outcomes that did not meet expectations, and she removes Lap Band devices. She performs gastric sleeve surgery both laparoscopically and robotically, and she is trained in duodenal switch, SADI-S and one anastomosis gastric bypass. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from Colorado State University (2005 to 2009) and a Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University School of Medicine (2010 to 2015). She completed an integrated general surgery residency with Sparrow Hospital and McLaren Flint Hospital in Michigan (2015 to 2020), then a general surgery residency at Texas Health Resources Harris Methodist in Fort Worth (2021 to 2023), where she was administrative chief resident. From 2023 to 2024 she completed a bariatric and advanced minimally invasive surgery fellowship through the University of Texas Houston MIST program at the Bariatric Medical Institute of Texas. She has completed Da Vinci Xi advanced bariatrics training, and earlier Da Vinci Xi and Si robotic surgery training. Before joining The Bariatric Experts, she built a bariatric and metabolic surgery program in an underserved region of Texas, developing its operative pathways and patient education materials. She served as MBSAQIP Director at a previous program, where she met the requirements for MBSAQIP Center of Excellence designation within a year. She wrote the robotic training protocol used for fellows at the Bariatric Medical Institute of Texas, has served as a surgical bootcamp simulation instructor for Texas Christian University School of Medicine, and wrote a patient education guide for bariatric patients, updated in November 2025. She works with patients who have tried other weight loss approaches, have regained weight, or have had a previous bariatric surgery. She has been a member of the American College of Surgeons since 2014 and of the American Foregut Society and the Surgical Infection Society since 2022. In 2025 she was appointed to the Insurance Committee and the Public Education Committee of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She founded the Texas Health Association of Women Surgeons in 2023, serves as an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor, and has co-authored peer-reviewed research on surgical infection, hernia prevention in trauma patients and reconstructive surgical technique.
