Dr. Anu Antony

Dr. Anu Antony is a plastic surgeon who founded the Antony Institute of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery and holds board certification. Her practice covers both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. She is an associate consulting professor in the Department of Surgery at Duke University Medical Center. Earlier, she held a professorship and served as vice chair of surgery at Rush University Medical Center. She has taken leadership roles in national and regional surgical societies, sits on a grants committee through the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Plastic Surgery Foundation that supports breast cancer patients, and serves on the education and research fund committee of the Aesthetic Society. She also founded the Anu Science of Beauty skincare line, which she leads. Her training includes plastic surgery at Stanford University Medical Center, plus fellowships at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and at Massachusetts General Hospital with Harvard Medical School. She earned an MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. She also studied fine arts at the Lorenzo Medici Institute of Art in Florence. With more than 20 years of practice, she performs facial, breast and body procedures, along with non-surgical treatments including dermal fillers, BOTOX, chemical peels and hand rejuvenation. Through mission work, she operates on children with congenital facial defects and on breast cancer survivors who need reconstruction. For a facelift, she designs the plan for each patient after a consultation that assesses facial structure, skin quality and goals. Breast augmentation plans take into account body proportions, existing tissue, skin elasticity and lifestyle. Consultations are private and no-pressure. Before recommending anything, she reviews medical history, goals and the details of each procedure, including which filler or combination of fillers suits the patient. Patients are given detailed post-operative instructions.
