About
Dr. Andrew Cortes is Medical Director at MICARI Aesthetics & Veins. He holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Cornell University and studied medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. His postgraduate training includes an internship year in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital, a four-year Diagnostic Radiology residency at SUNY Downstate, and a one-year Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship within the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Hospital system. He is board certified in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and in Diagnostic Radiology. Early in his career he provided community care across interventional procedures and diagnostic imaging. His focus is vein medicine and embolization. His experience includes vein ablation, vein sclerotherapy, phlebectomy, venous stenting, ovarian and varicocele vein embolization, uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization and genicular artery embolization. He is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in Italian and French.
