About
Dr. Ali Khan is one of two surgeons at the practice who perform hair transplants. He holds three board certifications, in cosmetic surgery, cosmetic facial surgery, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1995, then completed medical school at the University of Miami, with added training in general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He also holds a part-time faculty appointment in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
His cosmetic training includes an accredited fellowship in cosmetic surgery under Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, plus a Masters in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK. After his fellowship he trained with Dr. Juan Carlos Estrada in cosmetic techniques suited to Latin patients, and with Dr. Jaffar Khan in Dubai on aesthetic surgery for Middle Eastern patients. In 2002 he joined a private practice in Atlanta. From 2007 to 2009 he was part of the team that launched surgical services at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Dubai. He still performs cosmetic surgery there and sits on the scientific board of the Dubai ICCAM congress.
He lectures internationally on cosmetic surgery and has chaired live surgery workshops covering the body, breast and face. Lecture topics include ethnic rhinoplasty, brow lifting, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, liposuction, gluteal augmentation and fat grafting. He has co-edited two surgical textbooks, contributed several book chapters, and holds full hospital privileges for major cosmetic procedures of the breast, body and face.
