Douglas D. Dedo, MD

Douglas D. Dedo, MD practises cosmetic surgery at Gardens Cosmetic Center in Palm Beach Gardens, with a focus on facial plastic work such as facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty and liposuction. He has more than 35 years in surgery. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas and a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. He then completed an internship at University Hospital, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, a general surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, and an otolaryngology head and neck surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine at Barnes Hospital, where he also trained in facial plastic and cosmetic surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He also holds certification from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, which the State of Florida does not recognize. He is triple board certified. From 1975 to 1977 he served in the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. He has held a clinical assistant professor appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine since 1978. He maintains active staff surgical privileges at Good Samaritan Medical Center and St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, and has worked as a surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, inspecting facilities for compliance. He is a past president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. His memberships include the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. In liposuction he developed SLABS, a staged approach offered as an alternative to gastric bypass surgery. He is a pioneer in liposuction and facial plastic surgery, and is known for natural-looking results that last for many years.
