Diego Fuentes, LCSW

Diego Fuentes is the on-island therapist at Catalina Island Health in Avalon and holds a Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential (LCSW). His Master's in Social Work is from Cal State LA. He most recently supervised the mental health department at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Los Angeles. Earlier, he worked with at-risk adolescents, incarcerated women and people on probation.

His caseload focuses on people in recovery from alcohol and other substance use, along with mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. He builds treatment around the strengths clients already have.

He oversees social services supervision for the training program, where master's students in Marriage and Family Therapy and Social Services see clients through teletherapy.
