Desiree R. Eakin, MD

Dr. Desiree Eakin founded Total Illusion Aesthetic & Wellness Center, where she serves as Chief Medical Officer and as the center's physician. She performs the laser procedures and all of the filler treatments, and she leads the LOOK DEEPER Method for hair and scalp health. She began her career as a pediatrician and later shifted her clinical focus toward integrative and root-cause care, with a practice centered on hormone health, metabolic health, obesity medicine and aesthetic medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a Doctor of Medicine with honors from Ross University School of Medicine. Her pediatrics residency was completed at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Integrative and Functional Wellness at the University of California, Irvine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, and she is a board-certified obesity medicine specialist. Certifications include advanced hormone optimization, BHRT, hormone optimization therapy, intravenous therapy, neuromodulator and filler injecting (Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin Cosmetic, Kybella, dermal fillers and advanced dermal fillers), acne therapies, laser applications, microneedling with radiofrequency, fibroblast therapy, peptide therapy in rejuvenative and longevity medicine, ketogenic and intermittent-fasting weight loss, advanced facial anatomy and the business of aesthetic medicine. Earlier in her academic career she was recruited to the faculty of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and became Chief of Hospital Medicine there. Her academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at USC Keck School of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She has held clinical instructor roles at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and serves as principal investigator in several clinical trials. She speaks at BTL Conferences and other professional events on TMS, peptides and integrative wellness, and she is a Key Opinion Leader and national speaker on functional uses of TMS and HIFEM. Her honors include Woman of Empowerment (2026), Best Aesthetic Outcome (2022), Best in Laser Hair Removal (2022), LA Top 10 Pediatricians (2017) and Super Doctors Southern California Rising Stars (2016). She is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, The Menopause Society and the Obesity Medicine Association. She combines aesthetic procedures with hormone and metabolic care, taking a whole-person view of root causes, and she builds personalized treatment plans for women. She aims for natural-looking results suited to each person's features, with attention to facial symmetry and anatomy. Before neuromodulator treatment she evaluates facial muscles at rest and in motion. Before Radiesse she examines facial anatomy, skin thickness, laxity, medical history and medications, and before Kybella she assesses the chin, jawline, neck and fat distribution. For weight-loss care she reviews medical history, eligibility, risks, goals and past response, then provides ongoing follow-up with dose adjustments and a maintenance plan.
