Derek Piekarski

Derek Piekarski owns Craft Collective and works as its lead stylist. He opened the salon to bring advanced hair expertise to Pittsburgh. He has worked in hair for more than 20 years, has trained artists for seven global hair brands, and is currently on the Wella top artist team for North America. He now does cutting only at the North Hills studio, after spending much of his career teaching color theory and technique.

He sat on the North America Signature Artist Team for Wella Professionals and led technical education for Aveda and Estée Lauder across North America as its Manager of Technical Capabilities. His work has been featured in Vogue India and in technical education content and print media. He has also appeared in online educational videos, including the ElMI Cut Craft series, Hairbraned live events and Aveda salon education videos. He has shared the stage at shows and events in the US, South America, Europe, India and Canada, and has worked with celebrity clients around the world.
