DeJuan Burns

DeJuan Burns is a stylist at AU SECOURS Salon Spa in La Plata. Her work at the salon centers on custom handmade wigs for clients who are losing hair from chemotherapy or alopecia, and she keeps those appointments private with short waits. Beyond the salon, she runs a mobile salon that brings treatments into the homes of cancer patients and veterans who cannot travel to a salon. She also works with local organizations and the American Red Cross, supplying free wigs and beauty services for people in need. She heads Au Secours Inc., a nonprofit offering training in cosmetology, entrepreneurship and life skills to teens, disadvantaged women and survivors of abuse.
