About
Deepa Bhat, a board-certified plastic surgeon, leads Ravive Plastic Surgery & MedSpa in the Tampa Bay area. Her aesthetic surgery work concentrates on the face, breast and body, and she also performs female wellness procedures such as labiaplasty and vaginoplasty. She studied medicine at Rush Medical College in Chicago (2011 to 2015), then completed categorical general surgery training at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals in Chicago (2015 to 2017). A one-year research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University (2017 to 2018) centered on tissue engineering for fat grafting. Her integrated plastic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center (2018 to 2022) covered reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. She then completed a one-year aesthetic surgery fellowship under program director Dr. Francisco Canales (2022 to 2023), covering face, breast, body and genital rejuvenation, including deep plane facelifts and necklifts, high-definition liposuction, UGRAFT and complex revision breast surgery. During that fellowship she ran an injectables clinic offering neuromodulator and dermal filler injections. She is one of the few aesthetic fellowship-trained plastic surgeons in the area. She is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (2025) and is a diplomate of that board. Her publications include more than fifteen peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter in Grabb & Smith's Plastic Surgery, and she has given podium presentations at national meetings including The Aesthetic Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Recognitions include the AMC Plastic Surgery Residency Citizenship Award (2021), an ASERF Travel Scholarship (2021), an e-poster of exceptional merit award for a 2018 ACS Clinical Congress poster (one of 8 of 500 presentations), and the UIC-MGH Metro 90 Award (2016) for scoring above the 90th percentile on the ABSITE exam. She was named a Tampa Bay Top Doc in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Her favorite face procedure is blepharoplasty with facial fat grafting, her favorite breast procedure is breast reduction or lift, and her favorite body procedure is the tummy tuck. In tummy tucks she performs liposuction at the same time and repairs separated core muscles at the midline. She works with patients considering breast augmentation, lift or reduction, and offers one-on-one consultations for body procedures. Patients often feel more at ease after a first consultation, and she keeps up with the latest advances in plastic surgery.
