Dawn Shannon

Dawn Shannon owns Intuition Salon & Spa in Largo, Florida, and works as a Master Hair Stylist. She has worked as a professional hairstylist and salon owner for more than 20 years. Her specialties include hair color, curly hair, cutting, high-end hairstyling, Japanese thermal straightening, keratin treatments and organic perms. Her training began at Lacey Beauty College, where she is a licensed cosmetologist. She went on to advanced artistic cosmetology at Gene Juarez Academy in Seattle. She also completed a luxury stylist apprenticeship at the Seattle Four Seasons Hotel Salon and a precision haircutting and styling apprenticeship at Jack Leighan Salon in Portland, Oregon. At the Vidal Sassoon Academy she trained in elite hair design for master stylists and precision short-hair cutting, and she holds an advanced smoothing certification in Japanese thermal hair straightening from that academy. She also holds a Redken master certification in cutting, color and product knowledge. Her color training includes work with Beth Minardi and Roy Peters and advanced color theory at a studio on 5th Avenue. Product training covers Aveda, Joico, Keune, Sebastian Professional, Pureology and Ouidad, including advanced curly haircutting from Ouidad. She also has business training in salon systems, salon finance for owners and strategic sales. Her clients have included A-list celebrities, philanthropists, humanitarians and professional artists.
