Serenity Skincare was started in 2000 by Dawn Poirier, who holds a license as a medical aesthetician. Her career began as a medical skincare therapist working for Dr. Edward Mackay, a vascular surgeon at the Vein Center. She now practices alongside Dr. Nathan M. Hameroff, who serves as medical director. Her learning has included working with Dr. Miguel E. Trevino, an internist who is also president of the Center for Integrated Medicine and Healing Therapies, and with Dr. Ty Tvedten at Suncoast Family Medical Associates in Largo, Florida. She is a Certified Medical Electrologist and has added permanent cosmetics to that certification since January 2004.

- Her treatments use cosmeceutical products to target breakouts, uneven coloring, under-eye darkness, weak tone, fine lines, slackness and dullness. She also shows clients how to look after their skin between visits.
