David Stephens, MD

David Stephens, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Bellevue, Washington, where he founded his practice in 1995 and has served the community for nearly 30 years. He earned board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1993 and was an assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1990 to 1995. He is the medical director of the practice's surgery center, and friends and acquaintances from across the Seattle area often refer patients to him.

His training includes an MD, CM from McGill University in Montreal, a bachelor's degree with honors in biological sciences from UC Irvine, and a general surgery residency followed by an integrated plastic surgery residency at SUNY Health Sciences Center, where he served as chief resident. He completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at UAB and trained in facial cosmetic surgery and breast surgery through preceptorships with Dr. Steven Hoefflin in Santa Monica and Dr. Jim Grotting in Birmingham.

In facial work he performs facial rejuvenation, deep-plane facelifts, endoscopic and lateral brow lifts, short scar facelifts, blepharoplasty, deep plane neck lifts, endoscopic midface lifts and precision structural rhinoplasty. He also performs nano- and micro-fat techniques for facial rejuvenation and for fat enhancement of the buttocks. In breast surgery he specializes in breast augmentation and also performs breast lifts and other cosmetic breast procedures. He places silicone and saline implants through an armpit incision using the TEAM approach, which he helped develop with a team of plastic surgeons, and has performed thousands of these procedures. He uses the Keller Funnel to keep implants from touching the skin during placement, typically works with a dual-plane technique, and currently recommends Motiva SmoothSilk implants for most patients. He used Sientra implants for about the past decade and Allergan implants in earlier years.

For body contouring he performs liposuction, liposculpture and radiofrequency-assisted tissue tightening. He has performed tumescent liposuction for over 20 years and energy-assisted liposuction for over ten. He was named 425 Magazine Best Doctor in 2020 and 2021 and Best Cosmetic Surgeon eleven years in a row, and was ranked among the top five favorite plastic surgeons in Western Washington by Evening Magazine King 5.
