David Smith

He is an OB/GYN at Rhett Women's Center and has been seeing patients in Mount Pleasant since 1986. He holds a BS in chemistry from The Citadel, earned in 1973, and an MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. Following a rotating internship, he practiced as a general practitioner for four years before completing an OB/GYN residency. He has held certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1992. His practice spans all areas of gynecologic care, with particular emphasis on minimally invasive surgery and options that can be used in place of hysterectomy. He also treats menopause, provides hormone replacement therapy and offers weight management. He has training and experience in aesthetic procedures, including Botox and Juvederm. He has privileges at East Cooper and Roper hospitals.
