David M. Whiteman is the owner and medical director of Laser Lights. He is a board certified plastic surgeon in the United States and Canada and is double board certified. He holds the MD and FRCS(c) credentials. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada. He focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and also works at Southern Plastic Surgery, a practice he founded in 1993.

He serves as medical director of The Sport of Giving Breast Cancer Initiative and as director of the Breast Cancer Survivors Information Network. His memberships include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
