David J Contreras

David J Contreras is the owner stylist. He started as an apprentice at Toni & Guy, then advanced to technician and salon manager, and eventually became technical art director for the chain. His first five years there centered on hair color, and in one of those years he colored hair for more than 2,000 clients. After more than five years with Toni & Guy, he went independent and began adding cuts and styling to his color work. Since then he has worked with several salons in the Austin area. He is a professional stylist who has worked alongside many hair salon industry professionals. He offers hair color, cuts and styles, and hair extensions, including hand-tied weft, Great Lengths and tape-in methods. He has learned from Billy Yamaguchi, Rowena Cuttrozolla, James Morrison, and Guy, Bruno and Anthony Mascolo. He co-founded the Makeover 911 Glam Squad with the co-hosts of the Mix Happy Hour Show on MIX 94.7, which gave away a monthly makeover.
