About

David Amron, MD, founded The Roxbury Institute in Beverly Hills in 2015 and serves as its Founder and Medical Director. He is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon, certified by the American Board of Dermatology and also holding a dermatologic surgery subspecialty board certification, with more than 25 years of experience. His education and training include a biology degree from the University of California San Diego, a research fellowship at UCLA, and a fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgery techniques.

He is best known for lipedema work. He developed the Advanced Lipedema Treatment method, which the institute describes as three-dimensional, lymphatic-sparing liposuction for lipedema, and he has performed over 8,000 lipedema-reduction surgeries through that program. The site calls him a pioneer of lipedema surgery in the United States and one of the most sought-after liposuction surgeons in the country. His other listed areas include advanced liposuction, body contouring, mini-lipo, revision and tumescent liposuction, cosmetic liposculpture, complex case management, and clinical research and trials. He is listed for lipedema surgery at the Los Angeles and Salt Lake City locations, and his care is described as personalized and considering overall well-being as well as physical condition.

He has founded the Lipedema Society and created the Lippy Logic YouTube series about lipedema, and he advocates for lipedema awareness, education and insurance reform. He is the author of the textbook Liposculpture and Lipedema Surgery, and his 2023 guide for patients and surgeons is described by the site as an Amazon best seller. He speaks nationally and internationally, advises surgeons, trains surgeons from around the world on his techniques, and has given keynotes in 2024 and at the Lipedema World Congress in Rome in 2025. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times and appeared as a cast member on Netflix's Celebrity Plastic Surgeons of Beverly Hills.

Approach
He uses the tumescent technique with local anesthesia, which the site says reduces the risks of general anesthesia, and works within what he calls the safe plane during surgery.
