Daniel Urias, MD

Daniel Urias, MD, is a plastic surgeon and general surgeon. He enlisted in the US Navy Hospital Corps in August 2000, after high school, and worked as a Hospital Corpsman and surgical technologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida, from 2000 to 2006. That period included a deployment to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a field medical service technician with a Shock Trauma Platoon. He later served in the Navy Reserve as a field medical service technician in Midwest City, Oklahoma, from 2007 to 2008, and earned several service medals. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Columbia College in Missouri in 2005. He then earned a Doctor of Medicine with honors at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, from 2009 to 2012. He completed a general surgery residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, from 2013 to 2019, and a plastic surgery fellowship at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, from 2019 to 2022. He also completed a microvascular breast surgery observership at The Center for Restorative Breast Surgery in New Orleans in 2017, an aesthetic body contouring observership at The Wall Center for Plastic Surgery in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2020, and plastic surgery elective rotations at UT Southwestern in Dallas and Temple University in Philadelphia. He was voted Best Resident during surgery training, earned the highest score on the inservice exam, and published research four times during general surgery training and nine more times during the fellowship. His practice centers on breast and body sculpting, facial enhancement and aesthetic breast reconstruction. He mixes surgical and non-surgical methods, tailoring each treatment plan, and he helps patients think about longer-term plans for a healthier lifestyle before and after surgery.
