Daniel J Farrugia

Daniel J Farrugia founded BodyLuxe and runs the practice. He personally conducts the first consultation, the procedure, and the follow-up visits at 3 and 6 months. He has decades of surgical experience, including several thousand body contouring procedures. He holds MD and PhD degrees and trained at Mayo Clinic, the University of Florida and the University of Pittsburgh. His PhD thesis, dated December 2007 and focused on BRCA2 function, is listed under the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Before concentrating full time on BodyLuxe, he served as lead surgeon at the Chicago site of Elite Body Sculpture, which later became AirSculpt, and he also practiced with Aesthetic Physicians PC. He has been invited to train plastic surgeons in awake body contouring, has written numerous peer-reviewed articles, and has presented more than 27 works at conferences. His articles have been cited by more than 1,600 biomedical research teams. Honors include a US Department of Defense research fellowship and a Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award. His practice centers on awake body contouring, liposuction, Brazilian butt lift and fat transfer under local anesthesia, including FormSculpt. He plans each case around a patient's anatomy, health, goals and available donor fat, following a physical assessment and a review of goals. His approach aims for natural, proportionate results with attention to safety. He treats patients from across the United States and abroad, and offers video consultations to those who live beyond driving distance of Chicago.
