About
Crystal Gillis runs The Wild Salon, where she also works as a stylist. Outside the salon, she takes on elopement hair and makeup jobs at remote backcountry sites, including locations at high alpine elevations. Cutting is her strongest area, though her work is not limited to one salon service.
She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Iowa and went to cosmetology school during those same years. Before opening her own business, she held positions across the industry, moving up from stylist to senior manager.

- She starts each consultation by asking questions, assessing visually and listening to what clients want, then builds each style around the client's personality, schedule, fashion sense, age and lifestyle.
