Cortney Barnes

Cortney Barnes started in hair young, taking a first job as a shampoo assistant at age 13. She began cosmetology school at 15 while still attending high school, then earned a cosmetologist license after graduating and began working in salons as a hair stylist. She has more than 20 years of experience in cosmetology and over 10 years as a salon owner. Her work was published in The Linen Magazine and Sophisticate's Black Hair Magazine in 2012, and she has worked with makeup artists, fashion stylists and hairstylists including Renny Vasquez, Apuje Kalu, Felicia Gray, Sahnue Hayes and Kim Connell. She has also worked with Beverli Alford and with Princess Party, a nonprofit organization. Her focus includes braids, extensions, locs, natural hair styling and relaxers, and she builds each client's regimen around their hair needs and everyday life.
